David Hutchin is a seasoned global brand marketing strategist with a passion for driving meaningful results and fostering integrity in his work. He’s held leadership positions in the dynamic worlds of music, film, and television, with a career spanning over two decades at major studios like Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox. Beyond the boardroom, David's life has been anything but conventional. After college, he spent five years living and touring Spain as a concert promoter representative, immersing himself in the vibrant music scene and gaining invaluable international experience. Now residing in Los Angeles with his wife Julia and their wonderful dogs, including his black pug Luna, David balances his professional drive with his love for music, cycling, and supporting charities that benefit children. His college-age kids, Ethan (SDSU) and Grace (USC), both proudly graduated in 2025.
As a brand management and marketing specialist, David has worked on an array of marquee entertainment brands, from Madonna to Red Hot Chili Peppers to the Harry Potter movie franchise and the Homeland TV series, managing multi-country P&Ls, and holding the titles of Marketing Director at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and Executive Director of Marketing at 20th Century Fox.
His most recent role as Executive Director, Brand Marketing at STARZ | A LIONSGATE Company, showcases his ability to deliver impactful results and lead innovation. As the US brand campaign lead for this streaming service, he orchestrated an 8-figure campaign that delivered double-digit spikes in Brand Consideration and Purchase Intent KPIs. On the international side of the business, he spearheaded the rebranding of STARZPLAY to LIONSGATE+ across 8 new markets, achieving 41% brand awareness within 12 months in the UK with a launch campaign that outperformed entertainment brand norms by +10%. David also directed global brand activations, including a Pride Parade activation in CDMX integrating local celebrities, talent and non-profits as well as an influencer-driven brand event in London focusing on promoting core IP and relationships with local distributors. His current mission is to streamline antiquated, labor-intensive marketing workflows through an experience-driven AI approach. He is particularly focused on leveraging AI tools, especially from Google's Gemini suite, to make standard marketing processes and departments run more efficiently. This involves improving tasks such as market research analysis, assessing content affinity across diverse markets and demographics, generating competitive insights, and enhancing predictive analytics, all while emphasizing the crucial role of an experienced human in the loop for crafting the right prompts and discerning AI hallucinations.
David holds an MBA with a Marketing emphasis from Boston University, a BA in Political Science (Honors) from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and completed a junior academic year at Universidad de Madrid. He is fluent in Spanish. He remains at the forefront of marketing technology, holding current HubSpot CRM marketing and Google Certifications, including Google AI Essentials and LinkedIn AI Prompting Essentials, and an Executive Education certificate from Kellogg School of Management in Digital Marketing Strategies: Data, Automation, AI and Analytics (2020).
